Was totally inspired by this image below, to create a board, for a bride wearing hijab, with a silver & white colour palette, perfect for this time of year. Since Eid is also around the corner, Silver is a great colour to rock at any event!
Ok I know this is not exactly what a hijabi what look for in a dress, not quite cutting it in the modesty stakes...but...I think they serve as great inspiration.

Very few of us are blessed with flawless skin, for those of us who aren’t; the lovely people at MAC have provided us with five different concealers to get us there. I have tried and tested four.
Select Cover-up concealer - £13.50 comes in 16 shades
This comes in a small tube so can be applied easily using the fingers or a concealer brush by squeezing a bit on the back of your hand. It melts easily into the skin and gives a smooth and natural finish. It lasts for best part of the day but it’s better for daytime use as it gives light to medium coverage so I wouldn’t recommend it for evening or wedding makeup. It’s definitely something you can keep in your handbag for touch-ups though. However the shades available all seem to be in the lighter end of the colour chart. This makes gives dusky skin tones less choice in terms of shade matching.
This comes in an eyeshadow case so it needs to be applied using a concealer brush. The brush needs to be swirled into the case so it’s easy to get too much product on the brush. It needs to be blended with the brush or a cosmetic sponge as its thick in texture; however a little goes a long way. It gives a matt finish that can be cakey if not blended. It lasts from morning to night and gives high coverage so a good choice for evening and wedding makeup. It covers up scars and blemishes really well. This concealer comes in a good variety of shades so everyone has a decent choice.
This comes in a pot so like the Studio finish concealer; it needs to be applied using a concealer brush. The brush can be dipped into the pot and excess product removed before application. It can be blended in using your fingers as its very light and creamy in texture. It gives a natural finish and gives medium to high coverage so can be used for evening and bridal makeup. It covers up blemishes but requires a double coat over foundation to cover up dark scars. This concealer is a let down in the shade department as the shades available are mostly light to medium.
This comes in a small pump so can be applied easily by brush or using the fingers by squeezing a bit on the back of your hand. It melts nicely into the skin and gives a smooth and natural finish. It does last from morning to night and gives medium coverage so I would recommend it for evening but it doesn’t cover deep scars well, it requires a double coat over foundation. It also pumps too much product in one go so I feel it wastes the product. It’s the best choice in the shade department though as it comes in a good range of shades.

Kareena Kapoor’s wax statue at Madame Tussaud Blackpool was unveiled today {I wonder if she had a stroll long the beach?}
Kareena said: “It is an honour and a privilege for me to have my own wax figure at Madame Tussauds Blackpool and even more so to launch a global Bollywood exhibition. This is a moment of pride for Indian cinema."“The figure looks incredible and is so life like, I had to do a double take when I saw myself - they have really done a superb job at capturing my essence,” added the actress.
A special Bollywood room has been created within Madame Tussauds Blackpool just for this special exhibition, which will be at the attraction until January, before moving to Bangkok. Other Bollywood figures on show include: Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and an all NEW figure of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The actress was accompanied by mother, Babita
A conversation me and my husband had, about when our girls get married, ~ it went something like this.
Me ~ Will you cry?
Him ~ No of course not
Me ~ But you'll get emotional
Him ~ Hmmm no, well maybe, i will be old, maybe i will cry?
Me ~ Of course you'll cry especially when you see them crying!!
Him ~ ...............
Lets face it most of us do cry at weddings, or at least get teary eyed, but its all tears of joy right?
Rruksati/Bidaai is If often seen to be a somber occasion especially for the bride's parents as it marks the departure of their daughter from their home.
Iv often thought that how you'll be on your big day, directly linked to what your journey to that day has been like, was it an arranged marriage, and your still getting to know your partner, or have you been dating, for a while, and know each other pretty well, are you moving away, living with in law or your own house.
Simply just getting married can make you emotional, regardless of circumstance, it is a new experience after all. new role, responsibilities...
Personally I didn't cry on the day, {did plenty before hand} but you would think I would have, being in a different country, having an arranged marriage, but I knew I was coming back to my own house, with my parents close by. Do you think that makes difference?
In the past iv seen countless brides, some have howled, some shed a tear or two, many have smiled happily as they met with family members and left for their honeymoon.
of course there is no right or wrong, in fact at times calm and composed, brides seem to surprise people more "why is she not crying" its almost like an asian tradition to cry, and if your not, then why not!?
No bride should be under pressure to be a certain way, of course what ever naturally happens, happens...
that is of course unless this song gets played...{is it still being played}
actually having wrote this post and watched this clip, must admit I hate these song now.
1) they make me cry 2) what they represent, girls leaving home, not belong to there parents anymore blah blah blah
Time have changed from say when my parents got married, my mother left Pakistan when she was just 18, and would tell me how she cried like a baby and did want to let her little sisters go, and her mother was worried how she would be treated, by her in laws {now that is always in the back of parents head}but have they? unfortunately even now especially in our Asian community there is still the "in law" problem, but that I think will be a whole different post.
love to hear your thoughts this topic, how do you think you'll be on the big day? are you under pressure to "cry"
I know I need to chill with the Bollywood, but i can't help it, especially when you have Karishma Kapur posing in a stunning Ayesha Depala couture gown. Love her designs
