Wedding Invitation in Pantones Colour of the Year 2012 "Tangerine Tango"

Pantones Colour of the Year 2012 is "Tangerine Tango"

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Since we like to be one step ahead, here are some brand new invitations by Ananya Cards in of course the colour of 2012

I really like these, so warm & colourful, start the year as you mean to go on right!?

Henna Inspired Letterpress Invitations

I love letterpress, one of my fave typography's, if you love it too, then you'll know it can make you heart flutter? or is that just me.

But what is it? I asked Athena from Meticulous Ink, a traditional printing and stationery company based in Bath. UK.

"Letterpress printing is the oldest print method using a press, invented by Johannes Gutenberg in the 15th century. An inked plate is pushed into the board or paper, leaving an impression and the ink behind. It is a very beautiful, delicate print method that has a beautiful texture to it - you can feel the de-bossed effect where the print has hit the paper. It works particularly well with soft, cotton card and extra thick weights of card, where a very deep impression can be achieved."

They recently completed a beautiful and unusual wedding invitation for a Muslim/Hindu wedding. "We created a bespoke henna pattern for the invitations, letterpress printed in a deep red onto beautiful 100% cotton board, to get a delicate texture. This was embellished with a sparkling Swarovski Crystal on each invitation. We also created a matching reply card and envelope and completed the stationery with a paper wrap to keep everything neat and tidy inside the envelope".

Meticulous Ink specialise in utterly bespoke traditional printing - from engraving and embossing to letterpress and foiling - and love to create something unique for every client.
