{Lust Worthy} Made-to-Order Indian Bridal & Evening Wear, Just a Click Away @ CoutureRani.com

One of my favourite fashion blogs Couture Rani has just launched a brand spanking new site today, selling gorgeous made-to-order Indian designer apparel, and do you know what the best thing is free worldwide delivery on all orders!  Its a little annoying when you see stuff you love but they don't ship to the UK. Lust worthy indeed!

Here founder and owner Gina Mathew's talks more about the new venture.

CoutureRani.com is the new e-commerce site selling made-to-order bridal and evening wear by India’s top fashion designers. Launching today, the site serves as a platform to showcase high-end, bespoke garments from the designers’ couture product range. The idea for Couture Rani developed during her stint in the fashion industry in New York. I noticed that some of the world’s top brands turned to India for the unique handicraft skills of its designers and artisans. Yet, in spite of India’s thriving fashion industry, Indian fashion did not have a visible platform outside of India. At the same time, there was a growing demand for high-end traditional apparel by South Asians living outside of the Indian subcontinent and those interested in Indian fashion and culture. What was missing, however, was access and distribution.
Although, mass produced, one-size fits all garments were sold online and in the “Little India” districts from LA to NYC, for the vast majority of global consumers, access to high-end Indian designer fashion was still only available via a trip to India. Couture Rani is unique in that it will allow shoppers to order a custom made, individually tailored piece rather than purchasing from a selection of pre-made stock. Since made-to-order is the standard in Indian fashion retailing and the vast majority have to travel to India to take advantage of this service, Couture Rani will now be able to provide customers this convenience in the privacy of their own homes.

We will sell bridal and evening wear consisting of saris, lehengas, churidars and gowns from the following Indian designers chosen for their distinctive styles.

Her passion is the preservation of the country’s indigenous crafts, which she beautifully incorporates into her collections. Ritu has won numerous industry awards, most notably the prestigious Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the French government in recognition of her contribution to Indian textile crafts and traditional techniques.
